TERMS & CONDITIONS

Care

In the grooming process all care is taken to ensure the health of your pet. Stylish Fido (known as “SF”) will do whatever is appropriate for the well being of all pets while in our care, however if the services of a veterinarian are required, the owner authorises SF to obtain veterinarian treatment in the case of an incident or serious medical problem being discovered during grooming. The owner agrees that SF, its owners are not liable for any pre-existing conditions or problems found during grooming and the owner agrees to pay for all medical treatment incurred due to such. SF is not a vet and any advice given regarding health problems should at all times be checked with a licensed vet.

Clip Downs/ Shaves

In the event of the pet requiring a shave down/clip down due to coat condition, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process, as well as uncovering nicks, scabs, cuts, fungal & bacterial issues, maggots and pre-existing irritation. The Owner agrees that SF shall not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered on a badly matted/neglected coat. SF will not de-mat coats that have been neglected and might cause stress or trauma to the pet by doing so. SF reserves the right to refuse to groom any pet for the safety of the groomer and/or the dog. SF will need you to sign a consent form for a full shavedown, and the extra charge may be up to 50% of the regular grooming fee.

The owner agrees to inform SF prior to grooming if their dog has ever bitten or shown aggression at any time. Failure to disclose said information may result in refusal of further services and a minimum £100 fee in addition to any grooming fees, irregardless of whether grooming services are completed or not. In conjunction with the Dangerous dogs act, Owner understands that they will be held liable for all bites/injuries caused by their dog.

The Owner consents to the use their pets photos taken by SF for use on our website.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why do I need my dog groomed?

A: for both your dog’s welfare and your benefit. All dogs are health checked and observed with records made of findings so that your dog can be monitored and hopefully problems found early and brought to your attention. Feedback sheets are given after every groom for your information if requested.

You should benefit from a healthier animal (with maybe fewer trips to the vets), not to mention a happier calmer and sweeter smelling best friend.

Q: Do you hand strip dogs?

A: Yes – if your dog has a coat that can be stripped and the hair is ready we will hand strip. There is an additional fee for this as it is very time-consuming – but it gives a beautiful finish and keeps the texture, colour and quality of the coat, which clipping destroys in strippable coats.

Q: How do you keep everything clean?

A: All equipment is sterilised between each dog and the tables and bath are cleaned with animal-safe disinfectant to kill any nasties that may have been left behind after a grooming session. All areas are washed down and disinfected at the end of each day.

Q: Why do I need to bring treats – I don’t want my dog getting fat.

A: It is really important that your dog associates the groom with something positive. We use treats to ensure all dogs find the grooming process a positive and rewarding experience, especially if they are nervous or anxious. You can bring in small treats, or even part of your dogs dried meal if you are concerned with weight issues.
